Esther decides to approach the king

Mordecai mourns publicly when the decree against the Jews becomes known. Through Hathach, he tells Esther what has happened and urges her to seek the king’s mercy. Esther warns that approaching the king uninvited may cost her life, but Mordecai challenges her not to remain silent. She calls for a fast and agrees to go, saying that she will accept the result.
