Everything literally came from words; therefore, everything can and responds to words.
The question is, how does everything come from words?
Let’s trace it.
In Genesis 1, God created the following.
Day 1: God creates light and separates it from the darkness.
Day 2: God creates the sky, dividing the waters above and below.
Day 3: God gathers the water to make dry land. He also creates plants and trees.
Day 4: God creates the sun, moon, and stars.
Day 5: God creates birds and sea creatures.
Day 6: God creates land animals and mankind. He makes humans in His own image to care for the earth.
The common phrase in the creation of this is ‘let there be’ – God was giving instructions on what should be created, all with words.
So God spoke all these into existence – they all did not exist physically before God spoke them.
Where were they before being spoken?
In the words of God, because that is where they came from.
Because they were created from words, they can be modified by words – they respond to words.
So what about man-made objects?
Well, there is no man-made item that wasn’t made from what God has made.
What is the most artificial item you know?
It will trace its source back to either plants, animals, or natural resources re-fashioned with man’s intelligence and creativity that God gave to man by words.
Man has never created anything totally new – everything on earth traces its source back to God’s creation.
Jesus knows this well because He was the Word spoken in Genesis 1.
John writes:
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5
John 1:1-4
That is why he demonstrated this authority amazingly while He was here in the flesh.
In an epic instruction, he told us emphatically –
For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.
Matthew 11:23
Jesus wasn’t telling us what wasn’t real or what he couldn’t do.
In Mark 4:39, He spoke peace to the wind, and it obeyed.
He spoke to the tree, and the tree obeyed. (Mark 11)
He spoke to ears, eyes, legs, and other body parts that weren’t working – they all obeyed.
Everything that has matter has intelligence and can respond to words.
Guess what, the same authority Jesus has has been given to us.
Because he gave us the authority to use His name.
He delegated His authority to us, and about His name, the scripture says:
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Philippians 2:9-11
This is a gentle reminder for you to use your authority.
Practice speaking to things around you.
Speak to your body, even if you don’t see a response – keep speaking.
If the body speaks another thing, respond back standing in the authority of the Blood of Jesus- the blood that speaks better things than the blood of Jesus.
If you speak to a pain, and it refuses to go, it speaks back more pain to you; respond back with more authority.
Standing on the legality of what Christ has done for you.
He set you free by His precious blood – no vengeance for sin is upon you.
Jesus made the full payment – He was an overpayment.
He took the full punishment for all your sins, so sickness, pain, and disease have no legal right to your body.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Isaiah 53:5
You speak to anything and everything until they come to the full obedience of Christ.
Don’t listen to what any other thing speaks, listen only to what God’s word has spoken.
Every imagination, thought, image must all come to the obedience of Christ – they must all bow and be subject to Christ.
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Cor. 10:5
Speak and speak until they bow.
Shut every lying tongue that is speaking anything contrary to the Word of God.
When the symptoms are shouting pain and death, you shout life and peace over them.
When your bank accounts are speaking lack, you speak abundance and supply because the Lord is your shepherd.
When your mind tells you you are depressed, speak back to it and tell it you have a sound mind.
Don’t let them have the final say; always have the final say through the Word of God.
Lazarus was dead, dead, and the tomb said it was final, but Jesus said no.
I am the resurrection and the life – He called him forth, and Lazarus came alive.
Let the truth of God’s word in your mouth be louder than the lies of the Devil.
Shout it out, let the Devil hear.
Let the elements hear.
Let them tremble.
It’s the roar of a lion, the shout of a victor.
Let them bear witness to the King from the tribe of the Lion of Judah, and let it who is just, ‘like a roaring lion’, but has no ‘lionnes’ in it (1 Peter 5:8), scamper in fear.
Because a Son of the Most High has risen.
Let the winds hear, let the Sun feel your sounds, let the earth breathe the breath of your voice – let all of creation hear the words of the one created in the image of the Creator.
They will tremble, and all come to the obedience of Christ.
For He is Lord over all, the Monarch of the Universe.
